Job Shadowing is een vorm van loopbaanexploratie waarbij PhD kandidaten en postdocs een jobfunctie leren kennen door een (PhD-)professional te schaduwen op de werkvloer. Gedurende 1 of 2 dagen ervaren PhD kandidaten en postdocs uit de eerste hand de werkomgeving, en de verantwoordelijkheden, vaardigheden en competenties die gepaard gaan met een bepaalde functie. Bovendien leggen ze waardevolle contacten in de sector waarin ze geïnteresseerd zijn.

Dit initiatief staat open voor onderzoekers uit alle academische disciplines. Voor verschillende posities die PhD kandidaten en postdocs uit de geesteswetenschappen targeten, zijn nog geen aanmeldingen ontvangen. Mis deze unieke kans niet om de arbeidsmarkt van binnenuit te ontdekken.

Hoewel er een uitgebreid en gevarieerd aanbod aan te schaduwen posities is, is er geen garantie op plaatsing.

Job Shadowing for PhD candidates and postdocs

Job Shadowing is a structured career exploration activity which gives PhD candidates and postdocs the opportunity to learn about a job function by walking through the workday as a shadow to a (PhD) professional. During 1 or 2 days PhD candidates and postdocs witness first-hand the work environment, job responsibilities, skills and competences in practice, and develop valuable contacts in a career field of interest.

This opportunity is open to researchers from all academic disciplines. Several positions for PhD candidates and postdocs with a background in humanities have not yet received any applications – don't let this opportunity to get the know the labour market from the inside go to waste.

Although an extensive and varied offer of Job Shadowing positions is provided, there is no guarantee of placement.
