International Thematic Networks: 3rd call for proposals 2018

In the framework of the Integrated Policy Plan for Internationalisation and Strategic Initiatives for International Cooperation a 3rd call for International Thematic Networks (2018) is launched. *** In het kader van het Geïntegreerd Beleidsplan voor Internationalisering en de strategische internationale samenwerking, wordt een derde call voor Internationale Thematische Netwerken (2018) open gesteld.

The deadline for Declarations of Intent (1st round) is set on 17/09/2018, 12:00h. 

An international thematic network is a body for support, cooperation and advice consisting of Ghent University staff members and international partners concerning a specific topic of excellence in education and research at Ghent University with societal relevance and impact.  

The network of international partners offers an added value through synergy by strengthening the existing capacity and expertise within Ghent University, and/or strengthening the capacity of partners in the South. 

A consortium applying for funding needs to consist out of an interdisciplinary group of min. 3 Ghent University professorial (ZAP) and/or post-doc staff members, and professorial/post-doc staff members of min. 3 different non-Flemish higher education partner organizations.

Upon selection Ghent University supports the network for a period of 5 years with €60.000/year for coordination costs. The starting date of the funding period is set on the 1st of January 2019.

De deadline voor de Declarations of Intent (ronde 1) ligt vast op 17/09/2018, 12:00h. 

Een Internationaal Thematisch Netwerk is een netwerk gericht op samenwerking rond een specifiek excellentiethema in onderwijs en onderzoek aan UGent met een maatschappelijk relevantie en impact. 

Het netwerk zoekt meerwaarde door synergie, c.q. door het versterken van de bestaande capaciteit en expertise binnen UGent en/of het versterken van de capaciteit van de partners in het Zuiden.  

Een consortium dient te bestaan uit interdisciplinaire groep van minstens 3 ZAP/PostDoc leden van de UGent, en ZAP/PostDoc leden van min. 3 niet-Vlaamse hoger onderwijsinstellingen. De activiteiten ontwikkeld binnen dit netwerk, met een UGent ZAP-lid als coördinator, dienen zowel onderwijs, onderzoek als dienstverlening te omvatten.

UGent ondersteunt het netwerk voor een periode van 5 jaar met €60.000 /jaar voor coördinatie. De voorziene startdatum van de financieringsperiode is 1 januari 2019.
