​The program's scope is to study the historical importance of the former Low Countries' contribution to Italy in the Renaissance and the Baroque (and vice versa) and as such frames with one of the Academy's longstanding missions, i.e. the promotion of scientific research on cultural and artistic interchange between Belgium and Italy. Therefore, the institution has been supporting personal research, seminars and institutional collaboration in the field since its creation in 1939.

As a follow up of the successful summer school organized in 2015 on printmaking in Italy and its 'Flemish' contribution, the Academia Belgica has decided to launch a didactic program on the description of renaissance and baroque prints and their techniques.

Candidate's Profile:

Graduates/PhDs/PostDoc in History, Art History and related disciplines. The candidates must be affiliated or have obtained at least a master's degree from a Belgian university. She/He must demonstrate experience in the field of prints and cataloging.
