Onderwijs in AJ 22-23

Lees de belangrijkste aandachtspunten voor het onderwijs in AJ 22-23 hier na. Wat is het beleid rond lesopnames aan de UGent en hoe maken we de transitie naar een duurzame Blend@UGent? Bekijk ook hier wat de huidige en toekomstige onderwijstools aan de UGent zijn om de leeromgeving vorm te geven.

Lesopnames voor studenten met een bijzonder statuut

Als je geen lesopnames maakt, moet je rekening houden met de faciliteit ‘toegang tot lesopnames’ voor specifieke studenten. Studenten kunnen die faciliteit enkel inzetten voor hoorcolleges, en dus niet voor practica, oefensessies of lessen waar een hoge mate van interactie verwacht wordt. Daardoor raakt de faciliteit niet aan het behalen van de eindcompetenties. Lees hoe je je lesopnames beperkt beschikbaar kan stellen op de onderwijstip 'Lesopnames aan de UGent'.

Feedback na het examen

Elke student heeft recht op feedback na de examens en dat geldt uiteraard ook voor de tweedekansexamenperiode. Wat communiceren aan de start van het semester?

Maak gebruik van de voorbeeldpresentatie om alle nodige informatie te communiceren in de eerste les. Denk hierbij bijvoorbeeld aan de doelstellingen van het vak, de praktische organisatie of de ondersteuning bij de cursus. Welzijn bij studenten

Studenten die zich goed in hun vel voelen, staan sterker in hun leerproces en vallen minder snel uit. Benieuwd naar wat jij kan doen om het ijs te breken tijdens de eerste lessen en hoe je studenten een mentale boost kan geven? Hoe je als opleiding peer support kan stimuleren en als faculteit een warm welkom en ontmoeting kan organiseren? Ga aan de slag met alle tips en informatie op ‘welzijn bij studenten’. 

Transparantere logistieke ondersteuning in de leslokalen

Lesgevers kunnen vanaf dit academiejaar bellen naar het telefoonnummer 9292 wanneer ze technische of logistieke ondersteuning nodig hebben in een leslokaal aan de UGent. 

Lesrooster in nieuw softwarepakket

Vanaf academiejaar 2022-2023 gebruikt de UGent een nieuw softwarepakket voor de les- en examenroosters. Studenten kunnen hun persoonlijk rooster zien via ‘Mijn kalender’ op de Oasis-website. Meer informatie vind je op deze pagina. 

MS Teams 

Vanaf de start van academiejaar 2022-2023 komt er een verbeterde integratie tussen de Ufora-cursussen en MS Teams. Meer informatie volgt binnenkort.

Zoom

Alle licensed Zoom-profielen werden omgezet naar een basic profiel. Lesgevers die Zoom dit academiejaar willen blijven gebruiken voor virtual classrooms moeten dus opnieuw een licensed profiel aanvragen. De capaciteit voor Zoom is tot 300 deelnemers. Vraag je licentie aan via en vermeld voor welke Ufora-cursus(sen) je Zoom wil gebruiken in academiejaar 2022-2023. Aansluitend zullen in september de oude opgenomen Zoom-sessies worden opgeruimd om ruimte vrij te maken in de cloudopslag voor Zoom.  Professionele opnamestudio’s 

Wil je een kennisclip opnemen of monteren, dan kan je terecht in een van de drie professionele opnamestudio’s in Home Vermeylen. Team Multimedia staat voor je klaar met technische ondersteuning, zowel bij de opname als bij de montage van je kennisclips. Bring Your Own Device-beleid

'BYOD' klinkt misschien nieuw, maar het beleid is al enkele jaren oud. In de huidige fase van het traject worden heel wat vaste computers weggehaald uit de pc-klassen en worden de lokalen anders ingericht. We verwachten dus dat studenten over een eigen laptop beschikken. In de toekomst zullen ook examens op de eigen laptop van de studenten georganiseerd worden. Nog tot en met academiejaar 2023-2024 blijven in enkele grote pc-lokalen een 300-tal vaste pc's opgesteld voor evaluaties en examens.

Lecture recordings for students with a special status

If you do not make any lecture recordings, you must take into account the facility 'access to lecture recordings' for specific students. Students can only use this facility for lectures, and therefore not for practicals, practice sessions or lessons where a high level of interaction is expected. As a result, the facility does not affect the achievement of final competences. Feedback after the exams

Every student is entitled to feedback after the exams, and this also applies to the second exam period. Read the education tip 'Giving feedback after the exam period' for tips about practical organisation, how to give powerful feedback and which tools you can use to do so. 

What to communicate at the start of the semester?

Student Well-being

Students who feel good about themselves are more confident about their learning process and are less likely to drop out. Are you curious to find out how to break the ice during (the first) class and how to boost students' morale? How to encourage peer support as a study programme and organize a warm welcome as a faculty? Set to work with all the tips and information on 'student well-being’.

Logistical support in the classroom

Starting this academic year, lecturers can call 9292 if they need technical or logistical support in a classroom at Ghent University. 

New software package for class schedules

From the academic year 2022-2023, Ghent University will use a new software package for its class and exam schedules. Students can see their personal timetable through 'My calendar' on the Oasis website. More information can be found here. 

MS Teams 

From the start of the academic year 2022-2023, the integration between Ufora courses and MS Teams will be improved. More information will follow soon.

Zoom

All licensed Zoom profiles have been converted to a basic profile. Lecturers who want to continue using Zoom for virtual classrooms this academic year will have to apply for a new licensed profile. The capacity for Zoom is up to 300 participants. Request your license via , stating for which Ufora course(s) Zoom will be used in AY 2022-2023. Following this, a global clean-up of old recorded Zoom sessions will take place in September in order to free up space in the Zoom cloud storage. Read more about the changes in Zoom usage here.

Professional recording studios 

If you want to record or edit knowledge clips, you can book one of the three professional recording studios at Home Vermeylen. Team Multimedia offers technical support, both for the recording and editing of your knowledge clips. Check the possibilities and book an intake interview via Team Multimedia's web page.

Bring Your Own Device-policy

'BYOD' may sound new, but the policy is already several years old. In the current phase of the project, many desktop computers are being removed from PC classes and the classrooms are being redesigned. We therefore expect students to have their own laptops. In the future, exams will also be organised on students' own devices. Up to and including the academic year 2023-2024, some 300 desktop PCs will remain installed in a few large PC classrooms for assessments and exams.
