Deze zomer organiseerde de Chinese Ambassade een schrijfwedstrijd om het 50-jarig bestaan van de diplomatieke betrekkingen tussen België en China te vieren. De wedstrijd had als thema "My Story of Studying Abroad", en dus werden zowel Belgische studenten die in China hadden gestudeerd, als Chinese studenten die in België hadden gestudeerd (of nog hier zijn), uitgenodigd om een bijdrage te leveren. Een alumnus van de Afdeling Sinologie, Pieter Weyens, won de eerste prijs in deze opstelwedstrijd. Proficiat aan Pieter, die nu ook zijn studies in China voortzet als doctoraatsstudent aan de Zhongshan (Sun Yat-sen) Universiteit in Guangzhou!

This Summer the Chinese Embassy organized a writing contest to celebrate the 50 years of diplomatic relations between Belgium and China! The contest had as theme "My Story of Studying Abroad", and so both Belgian students who had studied in China, and Chinese students who had studied in Belgium, were invited to contribute. An alumnus of the Department of Chinese Studies, Pieter Weyens, won the first prize in this essay contest. Congratulations to Pieter, who is now also continuing his studies in China as a PhD student at Zhongshan (Sun Yat-sen) University in Guangzhou!
