16th International Conference of the European Association of Japanese Studies in Ghent (online), 24-28.8.2021

As the most important international conference for Japan Studies specialists in the world, the triennial international conferences of the EAJS gathers more than 850 speakers from Europe, Japan the US and other countries, specialized in a wide variety of research fields related to Japan. The conference is divided into 14 sections/research disciplines: Urban, Regional and Environmental Studies; Language and Linguistics; Modern Literature; Pre-Modern Literature; Visual Arts; Performing Arts; Economics, Business and Political Economy; Politics and International Relations; Intellectual History and Philosophy; History; Religion and Religious Thought; AWS/ Anthropology and Sociology; AJE/ Japanese Language Education; Media. The conference was planned to be held in Ghent in 2020, but will now be completely online.
