Debating Sustainability: Students engaging in interdisciplinary dialogue

Dear colleague

The Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences kindly invites you to the second edition of ‘Debating sustainability – Students engaging in interdisciplinary dialogue’, which will take place on Thursday the 29th of April, between 18u00 and 21u00.

This online event contains a series of online debates, prepared and conducted by over a hundred master students of various disciplines and nationalities, within and beyond Ghent University. It is a collaboration between our Faculty and the Faculty of Arts and Philosophy, Economics and Business Administration, Political and Social Sciences and Bioscience Engineering.

This event is the end result of a ten week long online interdisciplinary collaboration, in which groups of students explored different controversial statements within the topic of sustainability with the help and support of our teachers and content coaches who have expertise on the topics at hand.

The debates are divided into four categories (Food, Health, Environment and Politics), each containing three debates on different statements and are conducted in English. One debate takes about sixty minutes and follows an Oxford Style Debate structure.
So, if you have an interest in sustainability or if you’re curious about the debating experience, then come and support our students by attending one (or more) debates that fit your interest!

Practical info:

  • You can take a look at the different topics on the Facebook event link.
  • Don’t forget to register through this Event Manager Link! You will then receive the link to the online environment a day beforehand.

We hope to – virtually – see you there!

Kind regards
