UGent Vrouwenstaking: 9 maart - Ghent University Women’s Strike: March 9

Met de UGent Vrouwenstaking willen we al het onzichtbare en on(der)betaalde zorgwerk dat veelal vrouwen doen, in het huishouden en op de werkvloer, opnieuw zichtbaar maken. Dit jaar steunen we de collega’s die het zorgwerk doen aan onze universiteit, het personeel van de poetsdienst, de studentenrestaurants en de kinderopvang, met een staking voor 3 centrale eisen:
1) opnieuw insourcen van het poetspersoneel
2) statutariseren van resto- en kinderopvang-personeel
3) minimumloon van 14 euro voor al het UGent personeel
We roepen alle UGent personeelsleden en studenten op om deze staking te steunen en deel te nemen aan onze acties en evenementen:

The Ghent University Women’s Strike wants to highlight the invisible and un(der)paid reproductive work done mostly by women, at home and on the job. This year we support the care workers at our university, our colleagues of the cleaning services, the restaurants and the daycare, with a strike, focusing on 3 key demands:
1) insourcing of the cleaning staff
2) statutarisation of restaurant and daycare staff van
3) a minimum wage of 14 euro for all UGent staff
We call upon all Ghent University staff and students to support the strike and join our actions and events:
