Nieuwe databanken: Artemis Literary Sources

De vakgroep Letterkunde besloot dit jaar met hulp van de Facultaire Bibliotheekcommissie (FBC) bijkomend te investeren in de toegang tot Artemis Literary Sources (Gale). Dit is een platform waarbij een reeks databanken worden ontsloten waarvan een aanzienlijk deel nieuwe titels zijn. Een ander deel betreft digitale versies van titels die daarvoor enkel in gedrukte vorm in de collectie aanwezig waren.


Artemis Literary Sources integreert literaire full-text werken samen met de bijbehorende metadata, subject indexering. Men kan zoeken op auteurs en hun werk, literaire bewegingen en genres. De bijzonder rijke database bevat zowel full-text literaire werken, wetenschappelijke artikels, literatuurrecensies, biografische informatie en overzichten uit alle Europese talen.


EXTRA DIENSTVERLENING

Extra tutorials, webinars en/of toelichtingen bij deze databanken, al dan niet gekoppeld aan een rondleiding of specifieke bibliotheekinstructie van een bepaalde collectie in de faculteitsbibliotheek LW zijn altijd mogelijk. Neem hiervoor contact op met de verantwoordelijke publiekswerking van de Faculteitsbibliotheek LW, Anne-Lise Van der Meulen.

Literature Criticism Online (LCO)
Literature Criticism Online includes centuries of analysis - the scholarly and popular commentary from broadsheets, pamphlets, encyclopedias, books and periodicals.

Literature Resource Center (LRC)
Literature Resource Center contains some major sources like Contemporary Authors Online, offering biographical coverage of more than 130,000 writers; Contemporary Literary Criticism Select, featuring entries on all authors appearing in CLC since vol. 95 of the print series and complete profiles of 266 most studied authors from editions prior to vol. 95; and Dictionary of Literary Biography Online, containing more than 13,000 biocritical essays on authors and their works written by academic scholars. The Literature Resource Center also includes selected full-text, excerpted, and commissioned critical material from Gale's respected Literature Criticism and For Students Series.

Twayne's Authors Online
Twayne World, US, and English Authors each contains the full text of 200 frequently used Twayne Literary Masters books on individual World, US, or English authors, for a total of 600 individual full-text titles.

The Listener Historical Archive 1929-1991 (TRIAL)
Developed as the medium for reproducing broadcasts, The Listener (1929-1991) was the weekly newspaper published by the BBC. The complete archive of this landmark publication is an essential witness to the intellectual and cultural history of the twentieth century, and also to the golden years of radio and television.
